u-joint, maybe tire issue but you should feel that getting up to 60.
Thump is often tire related.. Have you run over anything lately?
A wheel weight may have flown off when you were driving, look for a missing weight. Also look at the tread for any funny wear, and if possible check the wheel bearings by jacking up each tire and making sure it doesnt wiggle back and forth.
Crawl up under the truck and try to turn the driveshaft by hand, if it moves at all, bad u-joint.
It's eighty some degrees right now, but I'm trying to think cold weather related stuff. lol Could you have accomulated some ice or packed snow in a wheel causing it to be out of balanced?
ok new question, if anyone is reading this. it did it again half way home and i can feel it in the 4x4 shifter on the floor. and it smelled like either burning rubber or maybe metal?? im not sure, im losing my mine
Double check the boot on the front drivehaft where it goes into the tcase. If that came loose it could spin around and possibly make a burning smell. And you would definately feel it in the shifter.
