I am a new member. I am getting ready to buy a 2000 Dodge Ram 4x4 with a 5.9 gas engine and automatic tranny. It has 3:92 gears right now and I am thinking of changing to 3:55 to try and increase fuel mileage. Can anybody tell me if that would make much difference? I am looking for fuel economy and not worried about towing. I won't be doing much towing at all and then it would only be local. I am also going to put on a free flow air intake and a throttle body spacer which I understand should help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
