So I just put in my Diablo T1000 and did the 91 octane tune along with MDS deactivation and Tire size adjustment and my mpgs have jumped quite a bit. I am almost at 17mpg and I can certainly see it going higher, base on the little "mpg gauge" on the dash. I expected it to go down honestly but has anyone else noticed a jump in mpg with a "better tune" over stock. Or am I crazy?

Probably just having your speedo recalulated from the tuner. The 35's were throwing it off.

Definitely throwing it off, but would it make the difference in MPG?

Yikes. Maybe the better octane makes the engine more efficient?

That was my theory...and just a more optimized tune could certainly help. EIther way its a win.

I thought about tuning for 93 octane, but my wallet is too thin. The difference per gallon in my area is astronomical..

Right now according to gasbuddy, $2.25 Regular, $2.99 premium. $0.75 Cents per gallon, or almost $20 per fill up.

I'm not ready to give up my red bulls and other junk yet.

Plus, here in the south, everyone jacks their truck up 2 foot, puts on 35's, with the dumbest sounding flow masters, and the front end pointing at the sky.

Hit the gas, sounds like it's doing 200 M.P.H, 0-60 in 2.5 minutes.

I forgot to add the brush guard with 2,596 L.E.D light bars so they can **** everyone off and laugh about it.

Haha its not as bad here in AZ but there are definitely a few of em. Unfortunately we only have 91 as our highest octane...which blows because I had 93 in Illinois but for the truck itll do thats for sure. I thought about running the 93 tune and just dumping in some amsoil octane booster and just monitor knock.

Our Sheriffs office has a few Ram 1500 4x4 's as police cruisers with the hemi. It'll take 2,000 tax payers just to put gas in one of them for a year! :party36: I wonder if they have any type of tunes, possibly for better MPG's?

It seemed like they got a couple after the last two hurricanes. We have the most dirt roads of any county in Georgia, so I assume they had trouble getting down many of them with the water, debri and fallen trees. Even debri on paved road ways.

Well, I'll wait for you to report back how it works out with the premium and the booster.

My 89 octane and 93 octane custom tunes always yield me better fuel economy as long as I stay off the gas.
