The honest answer is you will never get the mileage that's on the sticker ... Vehicles are tested under controlled conditions and do not accurately fit real-life driving, including driver habits, road and weather conditions, whether or not you are using 4WD etc. ...

I’ve only driven my new 23 Limited about 130 miles so far so so my question is probably premature. The dealer filled it up prior to pickup and today I flipped over to look at mileage so far (around town) and it’s showing 13.5. I’ve been driving it like an old man while getting used to it (and I am pretty old) so I’m wondering if I’m really going to see some close to 17mpg around town?

I have the 3.92 rear which I was initially glad of since I figured it would add pep around town and with all the high overdrive gears in the transmissions anymore, I figured it wouldn’t hurt highway mileage much. Plus the 17/19/22 mileage ratings are are the same for the 3 different rear ends. But I’m getting a little suspicious that I may have little chance of seeing those figures.

So, what are you seeing with the e-torque 2023s? Are the 17/19/22 ratings a pipe dream? My old 2003 Ford Lightning only got 13 mpg and that was before I started doing a few mods. But it accelerated Like crazy and weighed 1000 lbs less.
most likely when your foot is off the pedal. those stickers have a tendency to lie, or they were tested using some old lady driving them.

i get about 21-22 if i drive nice on the highway, and i get around 18 in the city...as long i i'm driving like an old man. i also use either non-ethanol or shell super +. if i use regular gas my milage drops a bit. but, it's hard with a Hemi to drive nicely.

i should add that the average showing on the dash isn't always the current MPG. Try to "zero" it out via the steering wheel button and, while on a straight road, check your milage then.
I'm always using that option on mine.

I've had mine for 6 months. I reset my trip meter every time I fill up, but I have never reset the main EVIC page that also keeps track of mileage so that one should be showing me my average since the day I brought it home. It says 14.3 MPG.

I'm sitting right at 14.3 after resetting everything after a new set of tires about 2 months ago. You're doing pretty good.

My 2014 1500 has the 5.7 and 3.21 gears, 8-speed auto. Otherwise stock.
Also, this is really city/suburban driving for me. All my highway
driving was to/from work, 38 miles each way, and I've been retired since 01/04/2022.

EDIT: Forgot, 4x4, QC, short bed, 89 octane, top tier gas, Wildpeak AT shoes. If those details matter.

*When I was working and commuting I was getting 19-20 combined. Took 1 long highway trip, got about 24.5mpg.

Our '19 1500 Classic Hemi with 3.92 gears is averaging 20. Always use quality fuel of at least 89 octane and don't drive like a madman. Hemi is not known for being a fuel miser but it doesn't do bad when driven responsibly.

the fuel economy on the window sticker are in very controlled environments that you will never see on in the real world or even come close..
I have a 2014 1500 4X4 3:92 gears 70K miles on it has Lt275/70/18 Falken wildpeak tires also has factory air suspension which lowers the front of the truck over 60mph, it gets 16 to 18 around town and 18 to 22 on the road. I don't drive like a old lady but I don't lead foot it either. other than the electric side mirror that wouldn't fold in has been flawless. The truck is the best vehicle I have ever owned and I'm 70 years old :)

I have about 1600 miles on my 2023 Laramie GT E-Torque with the 3:92. I’m getting 17.5 around town, haven’t had it on a trip yet. But I do occasionally do WOT after the first 500 miles.
With that said, I also drove a 2022 Sport that had 4200 miles on it with the Hemi E-Torque and it definitely felt like it had more power and I was getting 19mpg around town.

I've been retired for 10 years, and this is also my daily driver. Although I live rural and there are times it will sit for days at a time without moving. As a matter of fact, I just filled up on Saturday (2 days ago) and it hasn't moved since I got back home. That fill up was also the 6th fill up since I picked up the truck on March 24th, 6 months ago, so I'm going through 1 tank of gas every month. And I just topped 2100 miles, so I'm averaging 350 miles per month.

I learned you need a larger intake and larger exhaust than stock
If you’re worried about the smog cops they have factory options
CAT back and RAM enclosed high flow washable filter .
Use fuel that has the least Alcohol preferably none and have a good suspension that gives the least rolling resistance.

Power to weight ratios are about even between Toyota a RAM from 2000 to present at least in all my experiences with them
( diesel excluded )

I've never complained about Ram Hemi mileage. I knew it was gonna suck when I bought it .....all of them going back 20 years ago. It never got better.

NEVER. MPG estimates are always a lie but I've never had one so offensive, my 1500 averages around 14mpg.

I won’t get a lot better but after500 mikes you got what you got. 392gears not the most gas friendly. I have two trucks one of each gear set at 70 mph maybe 3-400 difference

My 2023 Dodge Rebel HEMI 4X has about 2,000 miles on it, and if it's like my 2021 Dodge Sport HEMI 4X, the mileage will improve slightly when the odometer is closer to 5,000 miles. According to my window sticker, combined city and highway driving should be about 19 miles per gallon, and now I get about 16-17 miles per gallon.

One thing that helps me improve my gas mileage is having the fuel economy gauge on my tile screen. I've learned from experience that driving a 400-horsepower truck like you drive a 400-horsepower sports car will ruin your truck's fuel economy. If you watch your fuel economy gauge, you can see how quickly a sudden acceleration or stop-and-go driving reduces your gas mileage. To improve your fuel economy, accelerate when necessary, but drive at a smooth and constant speed whenever possible.

My Nused (new to me) 1500 2020 with a Hemi (non etourqe) and I have the short bed, full 4-door cab, 275/55/R20 factory tires. My truck has approx 33k miles, I get approximately 21 mpg on the highway using cruise 70-72 mph. Around town/errands 18-19 mpg. I drive very carefully (slow per the wife) coast a lot, and slowly accelerate, I use top-tier fuel as much as possible. I would guess as you complete the break-in process your mileage will improve.

You and I better start wearing dresses, because if we don't we must be liars.

There's a big difference between cruising at 90km/h and 110km/h. I've been testing it over the last two weeks on a 2 hour (one way) commute. By setting cruise control at 100, I was able to repeatedly get 9.8 or 9.9L/100km. So like 24mpg.

Same drive at 110km/h had me at 12L/100km, or 19mpg.
I was traveling to East Texas on 250 mile round trip engagements a little over a year ago. I saw a huge difference in my mileage at 60-65 MPH as opposed to keeping up with the speedsters at 80+. (19 mpg as opposed to 15-16)

Looks like my question should have waited. My first road trip of about 300 miles turned in 21.5 mpg on the computer. I’ll have to go down and fill it up and see if my math matches the computer. These were mostly secondary highways with a lot of rolling hills and a bit of interstate. So, if it checks out, for an engine still breaking in and the 3.92 rear, I’m pretty OK with that.
