Since I’m new to Ram trucks... when I start my truck the engine sounds almost like a Diesel.....o_O After it warms up it’s not as loud as start up, but is still there.

Is this normal in these trucks? If not what should I be looking for or be consered with??

I can record and post a video if it would help.

Sounds like you've got some broken exhaust manifold bolts. If it was the infamous Hemi tick it would be gone in like 3-5 seconds. The broken exh. manifold bolts sound usually goes away in a couple minutes depending on how many are broken. This is also completely normal and is pretty much guaranteed to happen as the miles rack up.

If you have the manifold(s) machined or go with headers and of course better bolts (ARP) it shouldn't happen again. Good luck and let us know what route you took.

Finally got around to checking the E. M. bolts, no issues there. The noise does go away after a few minutes of running. A coworker (he’s Ram guy for life) thinks maybe when the dealer did the oil change that they might have put in too thick of an oil........? Think I’ll give it a change an see if that makes a difference.
