    I can increase the sub gain without issues. If I increase the channel a & b gain past 1/3rd the amp will shut off.

    This amp doesn't have a gain dial.....it has Input Sensitivity Base Boost Level LPF Frequency Filter Switch for a & b channels HPF Frequency

    So half that circle still had paint on it. I ground it down to metal and reattached the ground wire. Turned the gain back up on my amp and tested for 10 mins! It is working flawlessly so far!!! Could that bit of paint make a difference? I need to turn the gain up more and keep testing but so far...

    Unfortunately I don't or I would swap it out and check myself. I would check the ground connection but I don't know where they connected it. I would have to trace it.
