Yes you have to use the lower spring seat, coil spring, and upper mounting hardware off of the stock shocks.

Hey everybody lets beat a dead horse!

See my comments to JIB's post above in (parentheses): Please see this information below from a very good suspension source (I shortend it up a bit in order to simplify things, this guy could write a book on the subject): Ram 1500 4x4 Front Suspension – Here are some excerpts from a great...

    Leveling a 2014 2500

The spacers of course keep the stock spring rate. I am not sure about the leveling coils, as I dont have the ability to test them stock vs. lifted to check in/lbs. I do understand however that most providers of lifted / leveling coils go up a minimum percentage over stock rates in order to...

    Leveling a 2014 2500

I used a 2.5" leveling coil from excel suspension with extended length Bilstein 5100 series on this particular truck. I have also used maxtrac coil spacers with Bilstein 5100 shocks and they worked well also. But the leveling coil was much better performance wise than the spacer.

    Leveling a 2014 2500

I am a huge fan of the Bilstein 5100 series shocks for any truck! There really is not much of comparison for the money. Built a 2014 Ram 2500 2 weeks ago with new coils and Bilstein 5100's all the way around and it worked awesome.

Tuff Country 4 inch lift question

Not saying all Rough Country parts are made in china, but most of the brackets, steering knuckles, etc., are. And more and more they seem to be putting out cheeper parts. I am not bashing them in any way though as I know many have had success with their parts. I have installed both brands...

    Leveling a 2014 2500

Most spacer kits for these new models are coming with shock extenders for the front. Anything over 1" of lift on the front and I would highly recommend shock extenders or longer shocks. I prefer longer shocks over shock extenders, but it is whatever fits your budget. Also I have seen some...

Tuff Country 4 inch lift question

This is kind of the latest trend in 4" lift kits, using upper a arms, differential and strut drops. This is a budget system over a full sub-frame and knuckle kit. Rough Country makes similar kits for Chevy and Ford and more than likely will have a similar kit like the Tuff Country soon. While...

    Does this look right?

You should get 4 sway bar links with the kit, 2 fronts, and 2 rears. Last I knew the front were straight, the rears had bends in them. Sounds like one of you should call Rough Country.

    Does this look right?

Not exactly sure, so you should confirm this with Rough Country, but I think that the sway bar links with the bends in them are for the rear end, and the straight ones are for the front. This is probably why they are looking so tweaked and mis-aligned. Also, you should re torque the entire kit...

Adjustable Bilsteins for 04 Ram 2500

Since your truck does not have a strut style front end, adjustable Bilsteins will not work. You will need lifted coils to get lift, then you will want to go with a longer length Bilstein 5100 series shock in order to get your wheel travel and ride quality back.

    Rear shocks for 6" lift

Bilstein lists a 5100 Series Rear Shock that will fit your truck with 4-6" of rear lift. They list them for the 2500 / 3500, but we use them on the 1500's all the time and they work great. They are exactly 4" longer collapsed than what you are running now. Part Number: 33-187228 MSRP...

    2014 2500 Leveling

I understand that, 5100 are not just related to coil overs, they are used in conventional shock applications also. Someone previously in the thread had mentioned the new Thurein kit with 5100's. I am looking to do a 2" spacer with 5100's and I cant find any info on them yet for the 2014's. So...

    Bilstien 5100/4600

Rattles can come from almost any moving suspension component. I would crawl under there and look for things that appear worn out / loose. These trucks are notorious for worn out shock bushings, but I would check everything else too so you make sure you are covering what needs to fixed. If you...
