I just hit 31k miles on mine and they were rusted to hell, I was able to get the front off easily enough but the rear were such a pain. I definitely had an easier time getting the whole front level done vs just the shocks in the rear. Loving the ride with the new coils, though.
I just installed the Thuren level on my 2015 2500 and put fox shocks on all 4 wheels. I left the rear coils alone as I wanted to feel the ride without any reduction in towing. The truck feels fantastic with this setup. My wife doesn't complain about the jarring anymore and the only time it feels...
I was about to grab my angle grinder and cut the bastards off when I decided to give the vice grips one last try. I'm amazed at how poor the location/design is on them but at least they're out. Hope to be able to finish the track bar and give it a test ride today.
Finally got it for anyone that may experience the same problem. A massive pair of vice grips on the stem and ratchet on the 18mm nut finally broke it. This will obviously mar the crap out of the old shock but it's off.
My stock ones definitely do not have the hex head. The fox shocks do. The stock ones have a fairly corroded possibly 10mm or square. Couldn't get anything to bite onto it on either side.
I can get my 18mm on but it just turns the whole shock. I can't seem to get the shock steady enough to break the nut free. I soaked in PB, will give it some more turns in a bit.
Hey guys, sorry if this is wrong or the answer is obvious and I just missed it. I picked up a thuren level with fox shocks all around. I went to take a look at the rear shocks after getting the truck up and am just curious if there's a trick to getting the rear shocks off that I'm missing. I...
Reviving this as I just found a full set of Laramie seats that match my truck. From what I can tell the harnesses match.
Finally getting around to this job as I finally found a clean set of seats for my truck. I have a full laramie (front and back) set on the way and I believe the wiring...
Thanks, that thread is intriguing.. I don't even so much care of the memory seats work but if I'm buying the seats it would feel odd to me to have dead buttons on them.
Thanks for the reply, I'll take a picture in daylight. I have no problem running wires or grabbing/wiring modules as long as it works. Do you happen to have the post of the person with the SLT? Didn't see it in my search.
I've gone through older posts from this site and others and most seem to be a dead end. Just curious if anyone has found any way to add memory seats into a non-laramie trim truck. I have a 2500 Big Horn with heated seats and am about to upgrade to Laramie front seats that also have the memory...
Had this problem, if you're using chrome there's an extension to bypass the photobucket money grab. Extension is called "Photobucket hotlink fix." I installed it just to test it for this guide and it works perfectly.
Yeah, I can see it when I look at my truck versus your picture. Any idea if the longhorn are the same as the laramie? Been loosely looking for awhile and found a pair of longhorn front seats (leather/heated/memory) for ~750 shipped. I was going to reupholster my truck either way so them not...
Curious if anyone can add on to this. I have a 2015 2500 Big Horn and my wife tends to complain about the seating. I don't mind doing a seat swap but is there any actual difference in the two? Seems like ~$350/seat to swap out the fronts if they're actually more comfortable.
Having this issue on mine 2015 2500. I had it balanced at the dealer at ~26k miles and 2 days later the shimmy was creeping back. Has the stock 20" with the Good years. Once I make a decision on new wheels I'll hopefully get a clean start without the shaking.
Yeah, that's a solid look. I'm not overly fond of how the 20's look or feel so I'm appreciating a bit of confirmation. 18" tires are definitely a bit cheaper, I just need to find some wheels now.
Mine has this issue, I believe. Some suggestions on other forums were to flash the PCM. I haven't done it yet, no clue if it would actually help anything. Doesn't seem to matter at what RPM I shift or how smoothly, it does it no matter what.
Hey guys, I tried searching and didn't see what I was looking for.. if it's already out there just point me in the right direction please. I got a (new to me) 2015 2500 with 4.10 axle for work and towing my camper and have been looking into tires/wheels. My question relates to wheel size. My...
This is MA law unless it has changed, supposedly they can take a measuring stick and if you're over whatever number they have you get an instant fail. No clue as to the stringency of this at inspection stations: (12) Altered Vehicle Heights. The original manufacturers specified height of motor...
Just based on what my guy said, and I think they'll vary so just ask yours, if he sees ANY change after the cat/sensor it's an instant fail. I agree it's asinine, just ask before you go to make sure you're safe.
You may still have an inspector that will be lenient on it, as far as I can tell. The guy most local to me was very clear he'd fail an aftermarket exhaust. I'm still hunting around for a different inspector but I have a year, at least.
I'd like mine a bit louder but I also tow my wife and 2 little girls around when we go camping so.. not too loud. My 2500 just sounds.. so bland. If you have any other recommendations that would be quick swaps let me know.
