****, that 87 tune blows, plus I had the wrong tire size in the adv tune. It had 31.5 I'm at 33. Turned a 8.61. 0-60. Pathetic, Gonna try next week again, I'll put in half a tank of 93. that should get me too 91 i'm sure. then I can 91 tune and try again with the updated tire size and 91 tune, we'll see what happens.

Rocket, make sure you actually measure your tires and don't just go by the size on the side of the tire. You need to have an accurate measurment or your speedo (and your datalogging times) will be all screwed up.

Rocket... if you had a smaller tiresize programmed in, doesn't that mean that you were running faster than you would have with the larger? (or is that backwards)

Cuz the tires are not stock, they are 33's. 265/60/20's. I measured them myself. I'm gonna double check, but I'm sure cuz I measured when I got her leveled.

Yep, if you adjust to a smalleller tire size than what the actual tire size is than the speedo and data logging will show faster times. Correct tire size is critical to accurate data logging and speedo readings.

Thats what I had thought VA, so really if his 0-60 was 8.61 with the smaller tire size, if alll conditions are the same except for changing to the correct larger diameter tire size, his times are going to get slower. Sorry Rocket

Wow I blame the tune then, cuz i haven't had a vehicle this quick since, my state police interceptor, calm down boys it was a 72 ford custom sedan. But it came with a 429 factory headers, dual exhaust. And certified calibrated speedo. Registering 140 mph. Why else would I be so slow? anybody fathom a guess.? Could my hemi be a pig? naw I doubt it ,it's the 87 tune.

here are my settings , are they too soft in anybodies opinion?

Uh rev limiter 5900'
1-2 wot 5700
3-4 wot 5650
No tranny tune yet.
burning 89 octane. filled up before the sc was directed my way.
So mileage xs for now. pretty lame I mean tame. Compared too the likes in this thread.

But the speedo was set at 31.5 is that not smaller than what I have? I tuned too thirty three and did a 60 mh time est. I was right on. A mile a minute. So I should be a tad faster next time out.My head hurts, thinking too much lol. need a beer.

Also just thinking the stock tire size for a 17 inch wheel would be 31.5 would it not. It doesn't change the fact that I need the better gas too really get the best out of my tune. Oh and by the way I'm not doing a tranny shift yet either. This should be posted above but while I have your attention does a pcm Clear , change a tune back too stock??

Rocket my first good Log was 8.39 so don't be disapointed. May I suggest shifting manually with OD off.
Hammer her from L1 and when you get to 5800 on the tach shift the lever up into 2, then your done (sort of) she'll rev up again but by then you'll hit 60 MPH before you would have to shift again to D, so when you surpass 60 shift into drive then back off the throttle (like when you drove the Ford and didn't want to slacken the Timing Chain).
Betcha You'll dial in somewhere in the sevens.

I,ll tell you about my datalog experience tommorrow after my TC install which went well BTW, but I got tire spin now so gotta figure a way around that (I.E. more Mods..WTF...LOL..) Nite.Nite..

Thanks for the Good Luck Call Man. The Gods where good to me even with a 3 hour delay to starting, was done in 6 hours (transfer case to deal with too!)

No, you should be a tad SLOWER the next time out assuming that all the factors are the same from the run you did last time. The smaller tire diameter actually made your times faster than they would have been if they were set correctly.

This is what I did with no o/d and the mileage xs tune, adv tune with previously posted rev limits, and a 32.50 tire, Smaller than what i Measured btw. But this time I loaded up on the throttle before takeoff, and shifted manually. I can live with this btw.

Much more acceptable !

When running WOT runs how much of a difference does it make to turn OD off and shift 1-2 manually ? I'm going to assume you let off the gas a smiggin when doing the shift . . . or will the stock TM handle the shift with the peddle still depressed ?

If I get interesting answers I may try to one up my previous 7.21

I had no problems. Foot to the floor!! I was able too knock off A full second with the larger tire, And was supposed to go slower. Had I not changed the tune too mileage xs. better kick than the 87 tune btw.
