My engine is getting more efficient as the miles add up. This was a 4 hour trip from Gatlinburg to Cincinnati up 75 and through the mountains. My truck has about 14,000 miles on it now. It is a 2016 2500 Long Bed Crew 4x4 w/ 3.73 and the 6.4l. a228e3cc3bfbd6e7c1b890048ff8d940.jpg

Does your trip A distance directly correlate to the fuel gauge? 281 miles and only 1/2 tank used!?

Yes. It's sounds strange to me too. I filled up in Tennessee, reset my trip gauge and off I went.

Man if that's on point then I'm impressed. I can squeeze 16.8 out of mine headed to Asheville from Charlotte

Honestly I've never seen it this good. Good quality gas (87) and engine wearing in? I was shocked especially because I was running through the mountains.

I'm in Ohio in a bit to go back to Michigan. I'm leaving shortly for another 4 hours. Gonna reset again and see what it turns on flat land.

Try to fill up before hand and after so you can record your mileage to compare hand calculations to the computer.

Even if your computer is off by some it's still impressive for going through the mountains. I run 93 as I'm tuned for it but I'm curious what you'll get on flat land hand calculated

This truck is getting alot better gas mileadge than I originally would account for. Winter/City driving I was going to expect 8-9 mpg. I got around 12 mpg. I think with summer driving I'll be seeing much better numbers. My truck putting along at 40-45 mph will acheive 28mpg, what kills it is those damn stop signs and red lights:naughty:

Regardless of what the computer mpg says, you still went 281 miles on 1/2 tank. That's just awesome.

Ok. Most of my trip through Ohio was showing an average of over 20mpg. I gassed up at a Marathon station with 87 octane. Reset the trip. This was to my location in Michigan. Air conditioning on the whole time.

Great report. What size tires are on your truck? I assume you are totally stock height.

Just took a 250 mile trip from MD to PA. Burnt 16.3 gals of fuel and only saw 15.5 mpg running 72-75mph. Your truck must be blessed or possessed to get those kind of #'s regularly. Congrats on that bro :happy107:

I have never seen numbers like this to be honest. I think it's a combination of warm weather, engine starting to break in, and I tried to make sure I never went over 72 miles an hour . Most of the time I was between 65 and 70 miles an hour. At the 200 mile mark on my trip, when I was still on the freeway, I was at 20 miles to the gallon. It was only when I got off at my exit in Michigan and got to my parents house that it dropped to 19.5 miles per gallon.

The evic means little. I hand calculate and always end up about 2 MPG less. I've seen numbers close to yours but then the real world figures disappoint. I've had 5 Chrysler products now with the evic. Non of them were reliable. If yours is you are the exception rather than the rule.

Either way you slice it, those are good numbers. Take off 1.5-2.0 mpg for a hand call and still great for a larger gasser. I think the key is his speed. I don't drive 65-70 on the interstate. Going to up I-15 for 900 miles from SoCal to Montana I drive about 78-81 mph and as getting 16-17mpg. I got over the pass north of Salmon, Idaho and dropped into the Bitterroot Valley doing 55-65 for the next hour and my mpg' jumped into the 18s. IMO, with fuel mileage, speed kills.
