So I didn't want to go to a performance shop and get ripped off and finding somewhere to do exhaust work up here in RI is a pain. Either way a big thanks to Moes. So the closest to a direct swap is as follows

2003 Thunder road QC 1500
Picked up a magnaflow 12229 muffler from Moes, got it fast
Stopped at autozone and grabbed their 18 inch exhaust pipe (3 inch in, 3 inch out)
3 sets of 3 inch exhaust clamps.

Remove oem muffler
Install magnaflow with 18 inch extension
Clamp

And go.

That was it. Oddly enough the first try I made the magnaflow muffler with pipe the same length as the oem muffler and it turned out to be 3 inches too short for some reason. Let the 18 inch extension how it is and zero issues.

No front resonator on a 03, my base model also didn't have a rear resonator. Just a water heater for a muffler.

Really? Damn, thought the early 3rd Gen's had just a front. I knew they didn't have a rear resonator like the later models. One of the things I hated on my 07 haha.

A quick scroll through my 2003 Ram FSM shows no indication of there being a resonator before or after the muffler.

Glad your liking it. Hope the weather clears up so you can get to enjoy it on the open road more.

Hey dude!!!1:)

How's it going.

Regarding the resonator, no resonators on my truck. Just a cat and a muffler. The water tank muffler is gone though. I got to drive it the past couple days and it definitely is the little bit of sound I am looking for.
