2004 1500 5.7 4WD 5-45rfe 5-speed automatic Tranny slipping in 1-2-3 shifts

Hello, my truck for years has been very loud when starting off on a cold start. The engine would rev up (2500-ish) loud and the truck would be getting up to speed slowly - gentle on the throttle. It always bothered me for the noise and neighbors, early morning...etc. but it would go away when warm. Now it does it all the time, seems all the way up to highway speeds then it quiets down and behaves normally.
Is it time to get a reman tranny? Has anyone had and fixed this issue?
Any help appreciated.
