Question fellow Ram owners,

I am about to install a 3" level kit and a 3" body lift kit on my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 5.7 Hemi SLT+, my question is can I fit 37" tires under the Ram without rubbing issues ? I know I can do 35" tires without any issues, I was also planning to do 2" spacer/Hub adapters to bring the wheels out two inches, I plan to put 12.5" wide tires, whats the verdict/ opinion ?

You should be able to, I'm fitting 35s with only a torsion bar level. And I feel if I only added a 1.5 inch body lift I would completely clear 37s, since 37s fit now but can't turn full lock. Also depends on offset, I have a -6mm.

While 37"s have quite the stigma of awesomeness around them, I suggest you highly review what you think you need 37" tires for. It turns out, other than stuntin at the mall, there isn't much that you can do with 37s that can't be done with 35s. Which are cheaper, have better road manners, and won't hurt your driveability hear as much.

Guys,

Thank you for the info and advice, as you read I am putting a level kit and body lift, the choice between 35" or 37" lift is all about getting just a little more ground clearance out of the truck, this truck I bought new and only have 62,000 miles on it, I use it mostly to hunt and have fun through trails in the mountains in Western Maryland, I have a new Jetta I commute to work with daily and a new Liberty we use as the grocery getter or mall Stunting if you will, I am strictly trying to make the decision based on my trail and off road driving in the mountains, I have had a few situations where I have bottomed out particularly driving through creek and river beds, would prefer the 37" tires knowing I will get another inch ground clearance over the 35" tires, wanted to make sure I could fit them without issue.

Thanks again for the advice and input.

Go for it but remember its only a 1500 so the front 1/2 shafts although tough are really made for on the pavement but from what you said you use the Truck for and go easy then why not. 456's and an LSD would work well too.

I certainly agree that being able to properly use the power you create is far more useful than clearance an big tires.

I guess I've been up, over, around and through almost everything I could imagine on 33s. Other than deep mud pits (which rarely need to be traversed anywho) 37s are just extreme.

That being said, they do look cool. lol!

I'm guessing the truck is 4x4, I wouldn't go more then 2.5" leveling

Yes, it is 4X4, the leveling kit is the torsion keys, adjustable from 2-3" level according to the manufacturer, just can't wait to get this all on and go tear it up, gently of course, love my truck, the only vehicle I have kept for more then two years.

Thanks for the advice.

Don't buy keys man, just jack yours up and get an alignement, the keys are the exact same as just adjusting your current ones. Mine are all the way up and I have zero issue, when off roading and on highway in fact I put about 2k on it since I did the torsion bar lift, get a slight shimmy at 40-43 mph when in 4wd hi on the highway.

Can't win the OEM Torsion Key/Aftermarket Level Key discussion however Pyscologically feel better with my ready lift Keys. Doesn't some 1500 4x4's come with a belly pan in the trans/transfer case area as I am sure some later than 03 years have something hanging under there unless I am mistaking them and they are 2500's.

Already bought them $95 with shock relocation to adapt for the 2/3" difference, $95 is nothing in the scheme of things, also easy to do the swap.

Thanks

I have a 6" FabTech with 37's on my 2500 and I can rub when flexin. They do look great but for the price and the weight I'd go 35's. I don't think you have a problem clearing them unless you were full locked and flexin. For the added cost of 37's I'd put it into and a nice lift.... Maybe some Bilstiens
