I have replaced Starter
Checked Fuel Pump fuse
Checked ignition fuse
Tried putting in neutral
Check trans position switch
Took negative cable off
Pulled PCM fuse

I get the red lightning bolt and then it goes away. No CEL. No codes.

Any suggestions? I’ll try to get a video up as well.

Hate to be a jack ass, but you did not mention your battery. Maybe that’s that issue. :)

you need to find the wire that runs from the TIPM to the starter and jump that to see if the engine cranks.
My neighbor's 2009 starter went bad and also fried the TIPM.

I do have the neutral light on under the 4wd selector and it won’t go off. Could it be something with the trans?

Trans is brand new as well.

Just took a video from under the rear of the truck. I don’t think the fuel pump is coming on.

How hard is it to test to see if it’s the pump or the relay?

Unfortunately, you're going to need a scan tool with live data capability or start plugging gauges inline and probing/jumping wires manually. I wouldn't recommend the latter if you don't know what you're doing. In the video, your battery gauge shows about ~10v. If that's not the true battery voltage, start looking between there. Could very well be a battery cable and/or ground. It won't attempt to start if it thinks your battery voltage is that low.

Note: When not running with key on, the battery gauge reads battery voltage. When running, that gauge reads alternator output.

I will have to check the grounds. I did test the fuel pump itself and it is not coming on at all :( I think the FP is bad.

Have to drop the tank for that which is going to suck. I bypassed the FP relay and powered pump directly and got nothing.

Battery charger said battery was an 12.0. I am charging it but not sure it will help.

Checked ground for starter as well as the other important grounds. All looks good and power is getting to the fuel pump relay too. You can hear it click but then fuel pump does nothing.

225k on a single fuel pump I guess is pretty good right?

BTW this happened after getting on the freeway quickly if you will and then got off a couple exits later. Pulled away from the stoplight slowly and then basically ran out of gas (still had full electrical) and truck died then would not start again. Sounds like fuel pump to me :(

You might be right! How many miles are on this truck (?) Has the fuel pump and relay ever been replaced before?
Unattach the fuse box (the one under the hood) and make sure a rodent didn`t chew up your wiring under the fuse box.
That happened to my last truck with the same symptoms you`re describing. Under the fuse box is a nice home for rodents.

I’ll check the fuse box in the Morning and the truck has 225k+ on her with Original fuel pump.

Yeah i think i would be leaning towards the idea that its likely the fuel pump. Let us know how you make out.
PS... i thru the thoughts of rodent invasion because that happened to me. I surely hope thats NOT the case with yours.

Mine has the extra 4.5gallon tank as well because it was a fleet truck at one time. It is at the shop $659 out the door for new pump assembly and they are checking the extra tank and cleaning everything up as well. Local shop FTW.

I pick it up tomorrow. I’ll report when it’s done.

Fuel pump replaced and all is well. At least my diagnosis was correct. Had a shop do it. $659 with tax and warranty.
