Newb here. So I traded my rusted chevy in for my 13 ram and it's stock. Plan on 6 inch suspension 3 inch body but is there a lift bigger that 6 inch? What kinda tires can I run 40"?

Hi partinus99,

40's will require a 3:92 to give reasonable throttle, if you can even fit them under there. So next do you have 3:55? Most go to 37" and it is my understanding that this is pretty much it without body rub. 9" is a LOT of lift!
Good luck and have a great day,

You can use something like a Bilstein 5100 w/a 6" lift to give you about 8" from suspension alone, 40's are pretty big for a 1500, but hey, do whatcha like!!!!!!!

Post some pics of the new ride & WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

40"s on a 1/2 ton ifs is a bad idea. IMO.. hell I think 37"s on the same set up is a bad idea, personally I wouldn't go over a 35" with a 1/2 ton truck.

Well I definitely didn't get any notification that there were replies to my post. So I'm sorry I'm just now replying. Yea 40s was just an idea but would most likely max out 37s or be more comfortable at 35s. My chevy had 6 inch superlift and I was running 33s so it was tall yet short at the same time. I'm heavily thinking 3" body 6 inch suspension lift but would think about letting a shop do the suspension lift this time. How much u think a good shop rate would be to install the suspension lift?

Ya with 37"s you can definitely feel the weight of these badboys. 40's would be a bit much.
But it can be done.
