So for the 2500 & 3500, mine being a 2500, the 2009 models got an extra year of being a 3rd gen. However, these 09 3rd gens have the 4th gen engine layout, and I would assume trans as well. Anybody know where exactly they drew the line between the 4th gen power plant & 3rd gen drive line? Or is it all 4th gen back to the wheels?
Hopefully going to do tranny and diff fluids soon and I see a lot of 3rd vs 4th gen stuff for what fluids and filters to get but I'm not exactly sure where mine lines up for those parts. I can always use my vin to get OEM stuff but I'm wanting to use better-than-oem components.
