Ok my 2014 ram sport 1500 5.7 hemi, has approx. 113,000 on it with original plugs. Planning on changing the plugs very soon along with tranny service filter/ fluid change. All differential fluids been changed with redline.

Question is what plugs have better performance for the hemi engine? They come stock with NGK plugs. Thoughts?

Ngk laser iridium is what the truck came with from the factory.

Grab some dielectric grease too. Some people are still dabbing anti seize on but its not needed as the new threads have a corrosion coating.

that price sounds like copper core version plugs for 2012-older models... iridium stock oe plugs are much pricier

They changed the spark plug types around late 13 or early 14 I think, so make sure you get the proper plugs. As was stated the early models had cooper plugs and the later models had iridium plugs and the iridium plugs are a lot more expensive. As a side note, Gearwrench, makes a set of spark plug sockets that make the job a lot easier. You might look them up on Amazon.

Just FWIW, off topic, I had the choice of NGK or Champion for my Honda Trike. OEM states NGK, that is what I put in...

Definitely NGK. The originals went 113k miles and I assume (foolish me, assuming:D) that it was running fine. What more can you ask for?

I am switching my 11 over to ngk iridum at next plug change. Replaced the coils with 15 coils hopefully the iridums will not throw a code.

This will be my 4th plug change. Hopefully it will be my last for 100k.

Rock Auto best price, got all 16 for 101.75 including tax and shipping with a 5% rock Auto discount.

Let us know how it works out.......have not seen anyone actually post that changing out coils & plugs on the earlier Hemi worked.

Plugs ordered from Rock Auto. Probably change them the last week of January. Should be around 110k miles by then.
I will post up any results

Easiest thing to do is to pull one plug, and get the part number from it. Then you can order the same ones. If the set is around $70, those are NOT the iridium ones.

Follow up on this thread, changed my plugs today.

114,712 miles. Replaced coils at 100k with those from 15 model year specs getting ready for iridium plugs

Installed the iridium 100k plugs today from 15 model year as I did with coils.

I ran coils almost 15k to make certain no issues.

Installed the iridiums and reinstalled the coils.

Truck fired right up, no worries, seems to idle smooth and my cold start up miss is gone.

When in installing the plugs, found one with odd discoloration. Not certain if it was miss firing, had a cracked insulator or what.

Drove truck about 60 miles, smooth, solid, no new noises, fuel economy seems same.

Will report back to you after a couple of thousand miles.

Further follow up with this item.

Over a thousand miles since plug change. Busy week driving to and from various work locations.

Average fuel economy is trending at 19 freeway at 80 mph(90 mile 1 way commute, with hills, flat ground and all freeway) and in town fuel economy is around 14. Lots of start stops in town.

Have run 91 real gas and 93 corn gas. Corn gas is trending at 18.

No codes, no hickups no ping, no knock, engine is smooth and can report no real concerns.

More as miles accumulate. This is with an i3 tuner and 91 octane tune

What is the part number of your 2015 coils please ?
I check on mine and it's 56029129AF and it seems it's the same part number than 2015 but it came with copper plugs... could you confirm?
