weighed mine and got 5960# with me (225#) and 20gals. fuel (120#). does not leave near as much payload as factory ads would leave you to believe. I have a laramie 4x4 ccsb 5.7. weighed my truck with travel trailer attached yesterday and got 11,540#. 6580# on the two truck axles and 4960# on the trailer axles. seems I can only throw a few bags of chips in the truck bed but maybe can pack a little more stuff in my trailer. trailer is 28' coachmen. supposedly 5050# empty from factory.

Nice pull load! What does your camper weigh all tanks empty? Just curious.:)

I was referring to the dry weight of your camper as factory specifies as well as your tongue weight that would be all tanks empty and no cargo in the camper.

my ccsb laramie has about 300# less capacity..I am surprised that the difference in e-torque and quad cab gives you so much more cargo capacity. also I have the same size and load range tires and the sticker calls for 32 psi even tho the tires are marked 51# max cold.

ok .. do you have the BFGoodrich 20" tires??
IF the tire pressure is increased by 4#s the load capty would go up .. wonder why difference in posted pressure????

I can see the quad cab being a lot lighter than the crew cab, which equates to higher payload...but are you saying eTorque trucks have higher payload capacity? I would have thought the opposite, based on a weight penalty for the batteries (?)

Take your rated weight pulling capacity of your truck. (not including the dry weight of your truck) Your pull capacity rate over all is rated. The pull capacity weight is minus your trailer weight, minus your pay load in bed of truck if any, minus all cargo and occupant weight in the truck.

The wheel base of the truck has much to do with pull capacity as well as over all weight of your truck and rather its 4wd or two wheel drive and of course gear ratio. Its all wound in to one large package. Your tires have a max air rate and then you have load rates never to exceed your max air rate. So with a payload in the bed of the truck if your tires look under inflated you can increase air but cannot exceed the max PSI rated on the tire. Hope that helps.

Example: the exact same trucks with same cabs same year same motor same weight and wheel base the 3.21 gear will pull far less than the 3.92. The "push back" on the trailer from the 3.92 is much greater back force while the 3.21 has much less "push back" thus with less "pushback" you must lighten load not to over power or "Push the truck".The etorque helps not only with 80lbs of take off torque but helps with the same on push back as well if that makes sense.

E torque really has no effect to increase payload its really designed to help with pull loads and braking as well as over all weight management control while pulling..

Your build sheet will specify the payload and pull capacities of your truck.

******I stand corrected the Build sheet will NOT specify pull caps, or payload.Must use sticker on truck or refer to Mopar Trailer/payload scale for 2019.*******

Mine is a Crew cab, 4x4, Laramie, Hemi (no etorque), 3.92, air suspension, panoramic roof, 12” screen.

Payload is only 1352!

I’ll be towing a Jayco 26bh weighing 5000 dry, 7000 gross. This will be the family road trip vehicle. I use a weight distribution hitch so that should help getting some weight back onto the trailer.

With two teenagers in the back, 500-600lb tongue weight, a generator, a couple of bikes in the bed along with a few other lighter items I’ll be right up against max payload.
I’m pretty safety conscious but in this case I’m so far below max tow rating and max GCVW I’m not going to worry about being over 100-200 lbs on payload. I’ll hit the scales and maybe have a pleasant surprise and find I’m under.

Found this on another site. Breaks down 4x2 and 4x4s with 6/8 cal engines plus different axles ratios. Not sure if anyone’s posted this and not sure if it’s really helpful to most.

Payload the way I understand it would be to look up your rear Axle weight load of your truck on mopar chart then subtract that amount from your GVW My is rear axle weight of 5339. my gross weight off the door sticker is 7100 Lbs. so 7100 Lbs minus 5339.=1761 Payload.
My Pull capacity according to MOPAR weight tables for 5.7 bed 4x4 with 3.92 is 11340 lbs.
