405 miles on it so far, evic says 10.4 hand calc was 9.7. I drive like a grandma for the most part. It's all city. Only drive 5 miles a day so not a big deal but hopefully I can get closer to 11. Didn't buy this for mpg but would be nice if it got a touch better. It's a 4x2 with 4.10. Anyone else see similar?

It'll get better once it's broke in fully. Probably get you closer to your 11. Plus your 5 mile commute isn't good for fuel economy

5 miles probably isn't enough to get the truck out of open loop fueling..

What's open loop? Thx

I'm not sure exactly what coolant temperature it is on the Hemi's that switch from open loop to closed loop. Basically open loop is programmed into the PCM to allow more fuel to be delivered to the engine to help warm it up faster.

And on the plus side since it is a 5.7 they make a ton of aftermarket parts you can throw at it.

I had a 2013 2500 5.7 4x4. I always got 13 mpg or better. Wecwent to arizona, drove 3000 miles averaging 18-19 mpg at 80 mph....i was truly impressed.
it shoulf get way better after 1200 miles or so

5 miles a day, sounds like it's mostly in open loop. Rich fuel mixture. This is normal, all modern cars do this as part of the warm up process.

I used to have a 6 mile commute to work. I started to take a longer route, nearly 10 miles and actuall got better gas mileage and more miles on a tank.

I agree with the above about your short commute, and would add it sometimes takes a long time to truly break in the engine. Our got mediocre milage until 36,000Km, since then it has improved measurably.

I commute 9.5 miles round trip M-F and I get 8.5-9.5 in my 12 Ram 1500 on 35s. On the weekends all city I get around 12-13.

try taking your foot off the brake pedal! just kidding. that's low enough I'd start looking for a fuel leak, or dragging brakes. Do you have a locking gas cap?

Sounds about right. Not driving enough to bump up the mpgs. Guessing it's "city" driving. That doesn't help.
