a/c compressor turns on w/just heat and no defrost

wondering why my compressor turns on and then off when i ONLY have my heat on. Rather it be on vent/floor or just floor (i think just floor). But regardless, why does it cycle when i only have heat on and no defrost. Am i tearing something up cause i just put an entire new ac system in. Including ac compressor, sighhh

From what I understand this is normal, the compressor runs when using heat to dehumidify the cab air. I was told this by a mechanic friend a few years ago because I asked the same thing.
