I've been saving money like it's no tomorrow for this:

I just test drove a 2012 3500 Crew Cab Long Bed Dually in Maroon.

It was amazing.

I think I'll be getting it next month.

Then I'll be turning the WhiteRam into a project truck for me and the kids.

New 6.7

I bought a left over 2011 6.7 in Jan of this year. Two weeks after I bought it the transmission had a major internal failure, took two weeks to resolve the issue. I was not happy at all!! However since I got it back it has been great, plows and tows like a champ. I am camping with it right now in Maine and it towed our 35ft 5th wheel over here no problem. I guess only time will tell......

I just got one a few days ago!

I love it so far!

It's my first Diesel but I'm a heavy equipment operator so I'm VERY familiar with Cummins.

I started a mod list while I'm out of town right now in my hotel room haha.

H&S Performance Maxx Intake Manifold
H&S Mini Maxx
DPF Delete
S&B CAI
WeatherTech Bed Rug
LED Headlights from AAC
LED Foglights from AAC
Shocks
Leveling kit
Fuel rims
Airdog/FASS 150
Blow off Valve
Flew-a-lite 264 Cooling Fan
EGR Cooler Delete
Flew-a-lite Tranny Cooler
LED Tail lights Smoked
Tint

Still looking around for more cool mods. I think I want the bumpers to be color matched.
I was looking at the vendors too, Retroshop looks sick!

Man that thing needs some 285s atleast of not bigger!

Yeah it does!

I've been looking around at tires and rims, I think I found the right rims for it but I can't seem to find the right tire. Maybe going with terra grapplers. I had those on my previous truck.

I asked the mechanics what the highest I could go without rubbing and they said 34's.

Some notes after my first 2000 miles:

I LOVE this truck/CTD.
MPG is a little lower than I anticipated, but I'm still working out the fit n' finish... been hauling some heavy loads to help accomplish this.
As promised by a friend with a 3500, she loves the Interstate and delivers a ride that rivals the 2010 1500 Hemi I traded for her.

Biggest complaint: Reverse is in the exact opposite position in the shift pattern from my Challenger.

Great motor... Stunning how much power it has especially under load. Drove both the 5.9 and 6.7 before i bought.

The 6.7 doesn't wind up like the 5.9 but it's just as quick...there's a video on here of a guy doing rolling burnouts with his... Awesome

Yeah the 6.7 is eventually, if it hasn't already, filled and taken over those big shoes left by the 5.9.

I haven't in a while, but I tow with a 6.7 and I've got to the say, I'd much rather tow with that truck than my 5.9. The drive train behind the 6.7 is amazing and you have so much control with manual...where the 5.9, you don't have a manual option (gear selector) and you have to throw money into the trans as soon as you add a little power. However, once you beef up the trans it's game over lol.

One day in the future, I'd love to personally own a 6.7 and use it to haul my 5.9 to dynos and tracks :)

After driving my Dad's, I could tell night and day between his 5.9 and his 6.7. Also since his 6.7 is modded, it runs like a champ! Fuel consumtion is poor while towing a trailer we where getting about 11 mpg's. I have the programer and still have yet to play with the setting the dealer said it was set to moderate setting.

Also the intergraded Exhaust Brake kicks butt! Plus the trailer brake built in. What more could you ask for. While in Tow/Haul Mode and exhaust brake had to hardly touch the brake pedal.

I love mine! It's my first diesel but it won't be my last. The torque is incredible! And it's even more incredible after deleting the emissions crap so it can breath.

being a diesel shouldnt it get better than that? i would think so, maybe its just the 6.7 maybe? i had a 92 with the old 12 valve, got 20 mpg all day long. didnt do bad at all under a load either.

The 4th gen body style only avg about 14.5 mpg while the 3rd gen body style avg about 16 mpg
04-06 5.9 are high 15's right about 16 (Dodge Ram 2500 MPG Reports | Fuelly)
