Any way to rig up a light to show the AC compressor on?

we use as as a defrost in winter (-30 C) (-22 F) as well as a to keep us cool in the summer months.
Make a note when watching your AC compressor clutch turn on and off that when the temperature outside is about 30°F and below that you probably won't see it on or if you do it will be very sporadic, by the time the temp is down to -22°F, I doubt it will be on at all. The amount of moisture in the air when around 10°F is also non existent, no need for dehumidification.
The cold outside air temperatures lowers the refrigerant pressure to a point below the low pressure control keeping the compressor from cycling. The low pressure control is set in such a way to keep the evaporator from freezing up, if it does you would have no heat.

When used for defrost it turns the AC on when you have air going to the windshield. And i want to know when it turns it self on. Mostly because i can do it....

I get understand all about "because I can do it", just couldn't figure out a "real" reason having to do with monitoring the compressor.

I want to know in cooler weather when the ac is on for dehumidifying the windshield. And how it effects fuel economy.

I see. Kind of a cool idea. I'm wondering if you can't pull that information from the computer historically somehow.

Here is it installed.... it turns on when the compressor turns on. I might put a switch in the light system so i can turn it off at night....
