My truck is just sitting in the driveway. It was making this noise while locked and unlocked. After I opened and closed the door it went away for a little bit but then it comes back. Goes away for a little bit then comes back again. Please click the link to hear it.

Did you put a HID kit in? In mine I have a ballast that did that for a while.

Yes but it’s not the ballasts. They make a different sound then this. More of a buzzing than a beeping. This sounds more like it’s coming from the firewall. I was thinking it might be interference with the hid system. Or maybe it’s interference with my phone or something. Idk I’m puzzled.

Hello mpress2570,

We're sorry to hear you're having trouble with your truck. At anytime, should you decide to visit your Ram dealer about this, let us know. We'd be glad to assist in any way we can.

its your evap system, or PCV depressurizing. the truck goes through multiple stages to shut the EVAP system down after you turn the motor off. It also does a check when the truck has been off for a while. My truck makes the same noise. I made a post years ago and it was confirmed.

Here is what the the EVAP system looks like. It needs to depressurize the fuel tank I'm betting the noise is comming from one of the solenoids:

Oh yeah. Both my trucks did it, my black RAM (current) still does it to this day. its pretty loud at times too.

and for what its worth my truck has sat for weeks before, and its never drained the battery. it ONLY makes the sound after I drive it. You should not hear that sound if its been sitting and cold. The EVAP does do checks every few hours I think so if its sitting and you hear relays clicking or motors running for a short time thats also normal.

No. Mine does it when its hot after I park with in 5-10 min. Maybe it is different then. but mine sounds the exact same way thats why I assumed it was depressurization

Those that have dealt with this Hopefully your still on the forum. Did it get worse? Did it effect anything else ? I’m assuming you brought it up to the dealership or a reliable mechanic? Did they understand the issue ?Was the a fix for it?
