I've owned three trucks with body lifts and have never had an issue. Just a couple tips. Before installation, wash the bottom of your truck. It's a pain working with dirt falling in your face. Also, spray all body mount and bumper mounting bolts with penetrating oil several times. Start doing this a couple weeks before installation.

thanks! Just wanted to ask because when i installed a zone leveling kit i had to take it apart a couple times because of a rattling noise, i later found out you have to drill a hole through the spacer (Brutal, i know). I just didn't want to run into any surprises this time around lol.

Anyone have anything to add? thanks!

I'm getting ready to install the zone 1.5 on Monday. I'll let you know how it goes. So far I've found out from others on the forum that the Zone instructions aren't very clear. I've heard to take a look at the rough country instructions for their 1.25 bl. Also have heard to make sure you have some extra drill bits handy. There's a guy on here who has installed a few in little time. Hopefully he chimes in, I forget his name.

There are brackets to raise the bumpers, right? What do you do with the tow hooks after you install the body lift?

Yes there are. My tow hooks are sitting in the shop collecting dust! I want to do something like this on my truck though. These are off the new 2500's

I'm hoping it won't be too bad. I installed a 3" on my buddy's 3rd gen and that took us about 8 hours. It was our first one we ever did. So we are thinking this won't take as long. With the 3 we had to disconnect a lot of electrical components. It doesn't seem to be the case with the 1.5. I think the most time consuming part will just be the disassembly/ assembly of the bumpers.

Ok well it took us from 9am until about 4. It was cold as hell. Bumpers off to bumpers on. I'll post pics tomorrow. Getting wings and beer now. It's not difficult at all just time consuming. The zone lift institutions aren't great but as others have said common sense kicks in. Get a few 1/2 inch drill bit. I took headlights off some people haven't. Didn't want to risk it. I'm very happy with the outcome I'll post pics tomorrow

This is true. Of course we got snow saturday and Sunday was way to cold to do anything. My buddy and I spent the day getting muddy dirty water in the face, ice chunks to the head and tons of salt. Surprisingly none of the bolts on my truck were a hassle to get off. They were all very easy.

Looks really good. I think a 1.5" body lift would look really good with my level kit. Do you have front tow hooks? I take mine offroad a little so I need those if I do a body lift.

No they had to be removed. I've never used them. I've never had to be pulled out and would just tow hitch to pull others out.

Go for it man. Now keep this in mind..a 3" body lift is no harder to install than the 1.5" body lift. Just costs a bit more for the kit itself.

You'll want gap guards for sure (front only) to stop the sand, salt, mud and dirt from getting onto the bottom of the engine. Mine got pretty bad before the gap guards went on.

I haven't done the tow hook thing I posted about earlier in this thread. I'll need to tske some measurements to see if they'll git before I pull the trigger.
