Hi I am thinking of this for my next mod as well as deleting the clutch fan and installing the v6 fan at the same time. Any updates from those running this... I also have a high end stereo with 2 amps and subs. If needed I would purchase a beefed up alternator.... I was already considering the big 3 wiring upgrade down the road with a beefy new alternator from Ohio generator. Let me know if you guys think it's worth it as I have headers 93 Hemifever throttlebody and s and b intake. Also I see that you can get this pulley with 6 rib or 8 rib pulley...any thoughts.

It was actually one of the mods that noticed immediately after install. Very smooth and the truck seemed to respond a lot faster. And I'm only running a 89 HF tune. The 93 is a lot better. Also I have a sub and amp obviously. Haven't noticed any ill affects. Although I'm not getting crunk and jamming out loud. I'd recommend it given what you already have done to your truck.

@hemi

Is this something I can perform or do I need to bring it to a shop? also, I have wanted to add the efan but was concerned that without having a tune on my 2015 it wouldn't be of benefit, is this so?

This is something that can be done yourself. Taking the stock pulley off can be tough, but once off, the new ATI goes on fairly easily with the use of a 1/2" impact.

The V6 fan install is only a 20-30 minute job. It uses the stock mounting bolts of your current fan shroud, and plugs right into the factory AC fan plug that is already on the truck. On the 2014+ trucks, you dont even have to buy a new fan...simply remove the stock clutch fan, and call it good. Running this without a tuner wont hurt anything, but if running it with a cooler tstat, you really want to have a tuner to allow you to set your fan temps lower to make use of the cooler stat.

If I have a 180* thermostat, would I want to set it to come on at 195 and off at 185? Thanks!! Can't wait to order that pulley and gears, to bad the Canadian dollars is so crappy!

Yes. Those on/off temps are perfect.

On the Diablo tuner you want to set all the AC OFF FAN temps to around 196-197 and the AC ON Temp dont even touch it.
The Stock AC ON Temp is around 165 to turn the fan on with the AC on, so that is fine where its at.
Your AC fan should always be on with your AC anyway.

Does anyone know the correct part number for the correct oem mopar e-fan. The bigger e-fan that will bolt right up instead of using the TYC e-fan. I have been looking at schematics and am trying to determine if the e-fan that came on my truck is in fact the bigger fan. My truck was production date 7/2013 late model 8 speed. Many have stated that the 2014's have the bigger e-fan. If I don't have it I'd like to replace with the bigger OEM Mopar e-fan and shroud but need the part #'s. Thank you to anyone who can help. I have the ATI Pulley on its way and would like to also eliminate the clutch fan.

You do not want your fan coming on at only 165*. Fan should not come on until you get up to about 195*.

Ok, I know this is not an e-fan thread but Matt said something I didn't realize. I'm actually embarrassed to admit it, but here it goes.....my 2014 already has the e-fan on it? Then why does it still have the archaic clutch fan on it??

Yes, a part # for a 71.5 6 rib high quality belt would be great. I need one as well.

I just realized this too.I assume we just take the clutch fan off and we're good.

Every 09-up Hemi ram has both a clutch fan that is mounted to the water pump pulley, and an electric AC condenser fan that is mounted to the back of the radiator. On the 09-13 trucks, we simply take the V6 model fan, and it takes the place of the stock Hemi AC condenser fan. On the 2014-up trucks, the stock AC condenser fan is strong enough to keep the motor cool, so you simply need to remove the clutch fan that is mounted on the water pump pulley. You are not able to remove the fan shroud like the 09-13 trucks that run the V^ fan though because there is nowhere to secure the upper radiator hose unless yo ubuild your own bracket. The v6 fan used on the 09-13 trucks comes with a mount for the radiator hose, so you are able to eliminate the large stock fan shroud.

As for a belt for the ATI 15% underdrive pulley, you just need to go to any local parts store, and tell them you want a 71.5" 6 rub belt for the 2013+ trucks or a 77.5" 6 rib belt for the 09-12 trucks. The 2013+ use a shorter belt because those trucks also have electric power steering where the 09-12 do not. Every belt manufacturer has different part #s for their belts, but they generally go something like this (715K6)...this would stand for 71.5" 6 Rib. Anyone working the parts counter will know this and should not have any trouble finding the correct belt for you as long as you give them the length and rib count.

Here are some part numbers to some 71.5" 6 rib belts,

Chrysler 53007595
Dayco 5060715
Contitech PK060716
Gates K060716

Any of these will work, when I get the pulley I will probably use Gates.
They always had good hoses and belts IMO.

What exactly do you need for tools to in stall this balancer, can I use the same old balancer puller I've had for 30 years or does it take something different?
Will the balancer bolt pull the new on or do you need the special tool they make for installing a balancer?
