I am wondering what the best leveling kit for a 2004 ram 1500 5.7L 4x4 is. I have a friend who has a silverado with a 3" leveling kit and I'm wondering if i can get a 3" leveling kit for my truck. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't go any higher then 2.5" with your torsion bar front end

The best kit for your truck is just cranking up the torsion adjusters IMO

How will that affect the ride and could cranking the torsion bar cause front end problems a few years later?

Cranking the bars gives you lift the same way as a leveling key was
Both can be hard on the front end, the higher you go, the more stress you put on the front end

Going to 3" would make your front end rock hard and leave your CVs are really harsh angles

You cannot use the ride height adjustable shocks but i have only heard good things about the 5100 series shocks

So if i crank the torsion bar and put on new front shocks that are 2" longer than stock will that help with the ride quality and and the pressure on the front end?

the longer shocks will just not top out. Cranking the torsion bars will stiffen the ride, but not to bad

Some say that new shocks made a huge difference while others say they didn't notice any difference
I would do it and see how it rides and try a longer shock maybe of your unhappy

A different shock isn't going to change the forces your front end will see
