Are u considering a gear ratio swap ? I am strongly before making the jump to 37” but I also I am stuck with the 355 ratio from the factory.
Also would like to have the option for locking front diff so looking st the 09-12 front diff swap.
U seem pretty thorough so if u have any research insight I would appreciate your input.

I have the factory 3.92's at the moment and while i could benefit from 4.56 or 4.88's with the 6 speed trans i have, changing gears is at the very bottom of my wish list for now. I'd love to get an Eaton locker if the option was available for my truck's rear end.

Has anyone tried using the setup from the 2019 that I know of for a locker option?

5000 miles update, measured thread on all 4 corners, 13/32 even front and rear so that's 1/32 gone in 5k miles. Assuming the thread wear will remain constant i could be looking at 55k miles before they get to the 3/32 mark. No changes in road noise so far.

I had an estimate done for some tree trimming and one tree removal the other day, and the estimator came out with a slightly lifted 2016 F150 Platinum truck. Pretty bad ass.
So, I noticed he had the B.F. Goodrich K02's on the truck. I asked him about the tires and he said they work great,....but they do seem to wear quick. That may sway me out from them, but not completely as I only drive about 8K - 9K miles a year, so they would last me an easy 2 years.
I'll have to do some research on some of the other top selling tires on tirerack.com before I pull the plug which won't be till next year anyways.

This is my 5th set of KO2’s. First one D rated. All E rated before in either 285/70/17 or 315/70/17. Never had a set last me less than 60k miles but none of the were mounted on a heavy truck like the RAM. Last set of 315’s on my 13 JKU had 62k miles with more to go. Jeep was about 5k lbs. my truck should be at lest 6k lbs In current config. 1/32 every 5k miles sound promising at 32 psi cold front/rear. And considering the road to the mall on some weekends looks like this:

They're really great tires in pretty much everything you want to throw at them but heavy mud, and since i don't do mud at all, and i mean like i'm allergic to that crap it's my personal opinion this are the best AT tires i've ever had. Once agin first time D rated.

Dec 2015, during a Christmas trip to Silverton,CO
Snow Storm Goliath was hours away and we were driving through the Silverton Pass without chains. (i had them in the back of the Jeep but didn't have to chain up)
Managed to get 67k miles out of that 285/70/17 set.

My KO2’s only lasted 30K. At that point I was wearing down the war bars. The heavier trucks would wear them down fast. Last December BFG released a new version that should wear better.

Right and why I pointed out what they were on, but still 4,200lbs is not all that light but not the 5,700lbs of a Ram.

I had never heard of anyone getting that low of mileage out of them though , thats like half what I got out of mine..lol

I carry about 900 lbs of tools at all times and frequently tow a hydraulic dump trailer, so I go through tires like a 3/4 or 1 ton truck does. And those go through KO2’s quickly; especially if they have a diesel motor.

That’s why I have a thread about the tire. If they didn’t last i'll know and i'll let you guys know. If they turn into chitty to handle or anything else regarding how they run or wear down i'll know first hand and i'll let you guys know. I don't sugar coat anything, lol. I'll call it chit when it's chit. :) You can see my mods, psi i like to run on the tires and more or less what I do with them and the truck. I don't have an 8k lbs Diesel beast and i don't pump my tires to 60-80psi either. I know BFG came out with a different KO2 compound for the HD folks. i don't think i have the weight on my truck to need that compound. but miles and time will tell the tale.

Btw the DT compound only seems to be available in the smaller sizes. you can't run 80 PSI on a 37x12.5x17 KO2. Max is 50psi at 3525lbs vs 3860lbs at 80psi max on stock size 285/60/20 2500/3500 tires.

Well after reading the last 12 posts or so, I'm happy with that. That's more promising.

Even if they last me 45k miles, I'll be good with that. I hear they are amazing in the snow/deep snow and that is my main concern and the wear time, aobviously. Maybe I will get some for the truck when I am ready to purchase, which won't be till next year some time. Just waiting to wear the GOODYUCKS out first.
Plus, my truck isn't super heavy as it's a rcsb Ram Sport 4X4 and not the usual crew/quad cab Ram Sport 4X4, so it's a little lighter in weight.

I'm not expecting them to wear fast on a 1500 regardless of model/trim.
Maybe on a 2500 and and i'm sure pumping the crap out of a tire to 60-80psi can't be good for tire life. But keep an eye on this thread while you wait to go through your current tire set. I'll update accordingly.

2k miles quick update (truck has 84k miles now, 7k miles on the KO2's) and perfect wear on all 4 current tires. Still 14/32 on the new one i moved from the spare position to the passenger rear position, and 13/32 in all the other ones. 31 PSI on all 4 and this are not the DT whathever tread some people have said we have to run in the trucks.
They're still looking brand new under the truck,i haven't weighted her officially but simply based on the tracking of the mods i've done she should be around 6k lbs.

200 miles shy of 5000 miles, so they'll be down for their 2nd rotation next. Will prob have it done next week or so not in a rush. they're smooth like day one.

49543355313_b8a22c216d_k.jpg2020-02-16_10-25-18 by RAM RSM, on Flickr

Wear is 12/32 even so far, the spare is down to 13/32 with 5000 miles So they're consistantly wearing down 1/32 every 5k miles.
If they continue at this wearing rate i'll expect to hit 55k miles with them at 3/32 or 60k miles with 2/32.
