I believe you do if they aren't 8ohms. Could always try it first. Dash speakers are actually pretty easy to get to

What’s the consensus on BOSS audio. I’ve used them before and really liked them. That was several years ago. I had head unit,3000 watt amp,2-500 watt amps for the 6x9’s(2 on each amp)4 total,2-12’s they were shallow mounts,2- tweeters.
All in a regular cab ford monster 4x4.
Q#2 What’s the recommendation for today’s technology?
I have the Uconnect 5.0 touch and don’t wanna change it unless I got an 8.4 with the bezel...

That was a very very long time ago.

I have Boss audio stuff in my beater Altima, and it’s not very good, honestly. When I am going to spend the money on my truck, I’m going with good ****, I’ve had luck with Alpine, Bose, and Boston Acoustic stuff in the past, but I’m by no means an expert!

yea im going to get them... but not the high end you got.. since im with just the factory head unti, i dont think i need all the RMS.. 100 rms 300 peak seems good enough.. going to get the bass blockers too.. but confused as to get the 150 hz or 200 or 300..

I would at least get 6x9 for the rear doors. They put out a good amount of bass

Lol you would be really surprised as to what a well tuned factory radio can do. But if you aren’t looking for a competition, then doing it this way goes a long way. If you truly want to be impressed by factory sound systems, deaden the doors at the very least and add a standalone dsp.

Yea at some point I may add a small amp to the doors if I’m not satisfied with the output after the speaker swap. I did the whole extreme system thing with my last car. Over 5k in music. I found myself rarely raising it past five unless I was at a show. So if these new speakers satisfy, then I’ll stay with just that and the sub. If not then, I’ll revisit

I know that feeling as I have $5000 worth of gear waiting in my guest room. My one daughter who rides with me 90% of the time won’t even let me touch my stereo lol.

@bigred74 @DRkNESS and friend

I got this sitting in my garage

Alpine KTP-445U 4-channel Power Pack Amplifier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VVYL46/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BcihBb6K44BKP

Think I should add it ? Think the speakers i ordered can support it ? Do our radios have rca’s on the back ?
No rca's, I went with a kicker amp cause it already has some built in features that the ram stereo needs to work properly. You can try your amp you already have but just know there is other things you will need to invest in to get it to work

@bigred74 .... radio needs to operate ? Mind elaborating. I’m lost. Yikes

when on crutchfield, i check the alpine ktp 455a and it comes back as not working.. but the ktp 455u ( which is what i have ) says it does

EDIT - spoke with crutchfield , the u stands for universal. I thing else is needed for operation on the ram. Phew
