Borla Turbo XL installation tomorrow morning. I'll let you know how it sounds. Of course...3" single in/2.5" dual out

I personally have greatly benefited from info posted on forums such as this and decided to join RamForum. If anyone is interested as to how this would sound...I found a great post on another forum of a guy who has a 2011 Ram 5.7L who just installed a Borla Turbo XL with resonators removed. Sounds awesome to me. This thread is for anyone else considering this kind of upgrade. Hope it helps someone as these kinds of posts have helped me.

A very good post of videos...be sure to check out the rest of his vids...consisting of interior sounds from 0-50 WOT, interior Highway 70mph speeds, exterior start up, and exterior WOT drive by.

I've got Borla on my truck. Love it. Every guy who's heard it says the same thing "that sounds too good to be stock". The alignment guy at the tire shop had to ride around the block in it.

Thanks for all the welcomes...Installed the Borla this morning and removed the resonators...I have to say the exhaust sounds great. Going from a Flowmaster 50(suv) to the Turbo XL sounds deeper and mellower...not quite as loud. I should have gained some improved "flow" through the system. Sounds just like the vids I posted of the other guy. His videos demonstrate exactly how it sounds so I would refer all interested to those vids.

Thank you sir for making a good exhaust video. I was expecting the typical distortion because people don't understand where to place the camera. I have been thinking of going with Borla for a long time as I have almost always done Magna Flow but want to mix it up. I feel like Borla is a very refined sound. This video is great.

Glad the videos could help. I agree the Borla is a refined, deep, mellow rumble. Just to be clear though the videos are not mine...I just spent a lot of time looking and found a great video with the exhaust setup I was looking into.

I am thinking of going with the Borla
400286 2.5" 2.5" 19" x 4"x 9.5" Dual In/Dual Out $181.23 (USD)
and then having an x pipe right where the Y is now.

Do you guys think this would hurt low end torque at all?

I couldn't be sure...on my setup I didn't put an x-pipe on...and just removed the stock y-pipe and had the muffler shop extend the pipe(2.5") from each side of the motor to the dual in/out 2.5" Borla(more like a true dual). Again...not sure about low-end torque. I didn't notice any decrease. It sure gets going though about 2nd-3rd gear and up. Oh and no need to pay extra for the Turbo XL...the Pro-XS is the same exact thing...different names for marketing reasons. Pro-XS series is mass produced...materials are the same...and of course...T304 stainless.
