Brake controller question

Does anyone know if the OEM brake controller changed from 2015 to 2016? My truck is a 2015 and for some reason it looks like there's a different one for 2016-2018 but it's almost $100 cheaper so I'd like to get it if its compatible.

Yes. There is one difference between the 2015 and 2016 module. The 4 pin connector uses a different circuit for the brake feed on pin number 4 between the two.
