Hey guys.

Would it be worth installing a catch can on a 2010 hemi with 180,000km?

Is it possible to clean out all the sludge that would be in the manifold ect. And how hard would it be to do so?

What brands do you guys recommend.

Thanks

I installed a UPR catch can on my truck a couple weeks ago. It has 37,000 miles on it. After 2 weeks the can was almost half full. Makes me wish i would have installed one earlier. Either way, the sooner you can get one on the better off you will be. Don't know of any way to clean out your manifold without taking everything apart. There is a turn cap on the PCV that can be taken off. I tried to turn it to see what was there once but couldn't get it to budge.

I just ordered a diablo catch can. After watching many YouTube videos what comes out of them. I'm not sure why they don't come as a stock part or something you can add. My ram only has 17000kms

Probably not much you can do for the intake without removing it (PITA). But the throttle body you can remove and clean easily.

Trace the intake tube to where it meets the top of the engine.
Remove intake tube.
Remove 4 bolts (one in each corner) of TB.
Pull back red clip, press down and remove TB wiring from unit.
**Be careful when putting bolts back through TB into the intake manifold as it is plastic, and easy to strip the holes.

I asked the same question a while back and was told "Seafoam" would help clean out the sludge that had made it into the intake up until I put the catch can on.

I would leave it be, not worth the trouble. A little top end lube is fine. Save your money.
