My 2015's stock tire is a 265/60/17 per the door sticker
I bought it with 275/50/20's
For winter I would like to go with 245/75/17's - narrower is better in the snow.
I will not be towing or plowing with it.
The tire store expert says you cant go lower in tire size only larger
Need some guideance

245/75/17 is larger than a 265/60/17???
The 245 is about 2 inches larger than the 265.

Find another "tire expert" who really knows what he's talking about. Your current one only knows what he reads in the tire size charts.

The 245/75r17 is 31.5" tall inflated on the wheel.

The 265/60r17 is 29.5" tall inflated on the wheel.

As long as your rim width is within the recommended range for the tire size, you won't have any problems with tire fitment.

In the case of the 245/75x17, the recommended rim width ranges from 6.5" to 7.5". Your stock rims are 7.0" wide so you are good to go.

My stock recommended size is 265/70...not 60 so they are 31.5
My actual current tire is a 275/50/20 which is 31.6
so my plan is to go to the 245/75/17 which is 31.5

OK. Some OEM takeoffs would work of course. Just make sure they are 6.5" wide or wider for that tire.

There are several OEM re-sellers online if that what you want to go with.
