Yep, 35,799.0 and less than 3 years on my 2016 Ram Ecodiesel and my cruise control stops working. But that's not the bad news...bad news is that by the time I get to the dealer I will be over 36,000 miles and no warranty! Dealer says call corporate 800-423-6343...they tell me the same crap...won't be warrantied! I tell this "corporate" dude that this failure happened within the warranty period and if he needs me to take a pic of my mileage for proof then so be it...no can do. Then I tell him that Uconnect tracks every damn move this rig makes and knows the EXACT mileage on my truck, therefore they should honor the warranty...no can do. In the end I was told to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose the problem and FCA will let you know if it is covered. Meanwhile I get nailed out of pocket for diagnosis costs and parts/labor for something that is under warranty in the hopes that my warranty covers it??? WTH FCA? Now I have a case number with someone supposedly gonna contact me back about this garbage policy crap, which my guess will get me nowhere!

Anyone else with a headache this close to warranty?

Have it towed with your warranty’s roadside assistance

AFMoulton hahahaha, never thought of that! Gonna run that by them and see which way they want to go. Some odd reason I think they would not do it.

How many miles were on your truck when you bought it? It is 36K miles past that number for warranty.

Also, not uncommon for dealers to charge the diagnostic fee upfront and then reimburse if covered under warranty. Just the way the game is played.

Bought it new. Completely unhappy that these rigs are tracked all over the earth and can tell me the exact mileage, tire psi and host of other data regarding these trucks but cannot validate my mileage at time of failure? Clearly Uconnect does NOTHING for me but rather protect FCA.

Don’t run anything by them, if it’s under mileage or time, then call the dealer company, say my vehicle has a fault, and I need it towed into the dealer to be fixed. You don’t feel comfortable driving it till you know what’s wrong. They can’t say **** about it.

Or use your insurance to tow it in. Either way, get it towed then you don’t have to worry about mileage at all

It has been my experience over the years that a dealer would warranty items even if slightly over the mileage. Op, find a new dealer. Also contact ram cares via pm.

Wasn't there a fuel pump issue in some of the older Cummings diesel installs in which the failure of the cruise control was a symptom of the fuel pump issue? Friend of mine suffered this as we where coming back from the drag strip one night...Cruise would not stay engaged. Turns out it had something to do you the fuel pump/s getting cooked because FCA did a none-standard install of the Cummings tubro 6 into the 3/4 ton chassis. The fuel line were to small so the pump would go into failure mode due to being overheated or some such. A costly repair to replace the fuel tank lift pump and such. You may have to google it to find the details,..and sorta half guessing here as it was some time ago. I have no idea if the issue was ever re-engineered. It was said that Cummings did not sign off on the install of there engines into the Dodge trucks of the time because it was not to their specifications or some such. Just before his (my buddy) truck went off warranty he had a "system failure" (wink wink) and had the fuel system pumps and such replaced under warranty...it helps having a friend at the dealer ship! Anybody else remember this kind of story? His truck was a 1990 something or other cab and a half.

Suggestions have been made. Have you figured out a solution to getting it looked at under warranty or you just here to vent?

I think he’s referring to the factory 3yr/36,0000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. If that’s the case, then it’s 36,000 miles or 3 years from the date the vehicle was originally put into service, no matter how many owners it’s had.

What if you buy an extended warranty now, before it goes over 36k. Might end up being close to the cost of the fix. I had a Nissan Pathfinder that the transmission (had 5yr 60k drivetrain warranty) went out at 59994 and I towed it in for the same reason you are dealing with. Got a new transmission that would have cost me about $3k had I driven 7 miles.....

If he bought it new with lets say 200 miles on it, he would have warranty to 36,200 miles with margins to drive to the dealership.

It works that way? I thought at 36k on the clock, it's a done deal. I had close to 400 miles on mine when bought so I'm interested to know this.

The 3yr/36K warranty starts when the vehicle is put in service and whatever mileage is on the odometer at that time is not included in the 36K. So if you buy a new vehicle with 500 miles on it, then your 36K warranty is good until you hit 36,500 miles. I know cuz I just went thru a warranty repair and it was explained to me by the dealership.

My truck is a 2014, which I bought 08/15 with 238 miles on it. So my warranty was good til 08/18 or 36,238 miles.

Just here to vent? Not at all since I have way more important things to do. While you were writing that I was just about to end a 12 hour shift with 2.5 hour round trip drive so that doesn't leave me much time to reply...consistently anyhow.

Yes, factory 3yr/36,000. And now that you mention it there were a handful of miles on it when purchased since I bought it off the dealer lot...and after checking it will be enough to slide in to the dealers lot under warranty. Looks like I win so thanks for all the suggestions!

That's a heck of an idea too...thx
