No clue why he used cans, took me 15 tubs with 2 gallons of xylene for my entire truck plus blackouts on my mustang.

If you do cans it usually ends up being a very coarse looking texture, but if you use a paint gun and do everything yourself it can actually come out very nice.

Though I'd still take John Deer black over it any day

Think keeping gloss black vehicle clean was bad enough, a satin/matte/flat black paint or any flat finish is a major pita to maintain.

If you want a satin look weather paint or plastidip then personally i would try a finish that helps conceals the dirt, scratches and other elements you may come across.

What would be sweet is doing a DIY wrap. I don't have a stable hand or patience to do mine but i love my wrap and at almost a year installed it's holding up great (and i live on miles and miles of dirt roads)

Update

Hey guys! Thanks for the compliments!

Wonder how long thatll last

It's been a few months and it still looks great! :rocking:

Well for one he used the spray can...which is a nono off the bat. there's a website www.dipyourcar.com which makes kits for vehicles including trucks.

I wanted to get a spray gun and do it the "right way" but they do not ship to California. So all of us over here have to find work arounds.

That's called a 10 ft paint job, lol. I bet it looks tight from far away, but not so good up close

Actually it looks great upclose too! Here's some more pics:

I "lowered" it here to see what it would look like. I hate the stock height!
