I have REALLY been wanting to exit my exhaust out the side before the back axle. I have been told that there is no room due to the large fuel tank on the 2500's. These guys at Minotaur are doing it on the 1500's. I guess they can pull that off cause the tank is smaller? I don't want it in the body panel as they did but I still really like that look. I remember as a kid they were doing this in the late 70's on the Power Wagons.
I was able to do a single side exit exhaust on my 2010 2500 6.7L without issue. I don't remember what my 2015 2500 6.4L looks like underneath

Yeah I could probably get it out the passenger side but I am wanting it out both sides. I forgot to post the link to the company doing this. They are doing some awesome stuff if you got the $$$!

Going to talk to the exhaust shop tomorrow. Hopefully, get her installed tomorrow or Friday.

For anyone wondering, I'm installing the Magnaflow 12589 - it's 14" inches overall - 3 inch inlet and outlet.

Got the muffler installed today. Removed the resonator too. Really kind of surprised at how quite it is. I guess I am just used to a dual exhaust setup. I'm not sure. Disappointed might be a word I'd use. Everyone is saying 14 inch would be wicked loud, and this is borderline stockish. I am hoping that this breaks in and the DB level increases, because right now it's a snooze feast.

I recorded some video yesterday for "before" and I am going to wait 5 days before recording "after" of the new setup and posting it. I want to make sure it's broken in properly as sometimes the note changes after a couple of days of use.

And now for photos. I told the guy I wanted it subdued and to leave me with plenty of ground clearance so I don't have to worry about bashing my tail pipe.

This is what he came up with, and I'm really happy about this.

You can hear it, but you can't see it.

Just barely comes a little lower than the stock spare tire.

Video coming soon.

I have the mufflex kit, chopped the resonator off and put a 4" tip just behind the rear axle similar to bold adventures ass end. Thing sounds rediculous and in my quiet suburban neighborhood you can hear me revving at 4k from 3 streets away (according to my dad and neighbor lol). Honestly it's a bit more than what I wanted but firing up the motor and the idle are perfect imo.

here's the way I did my PW exhaust

I bought the Mufflex muffler delete pipe that comes with the hanges and clamps, I also purchased an Aero Turbine AT3535XL

picture.jpg

I had to take 20" off the front and 3 1/4" off the back and get a 3 1/2" clamp

looking forward

I'll be interested in your feedback after a long tow, BoldAdventure. It sounds great, but I fear too loud for my taste while towing.

I have an inside clip too I can post. This exhaust sounds louder outside. Once you are off the pedal you don't hear it inside.

I'll have to do an audio while towing too. Hard part is getting the kids to be quite, lol.

I'm a novice to this stuff, but does anyone know if the resonator delete effects emissions?

I live in a communist state that still requires bi-annual emissions certifications, but would like to try the Magnaflow minus the resonator in the future.

The resonator has nothing to do with emissions. As long as you don't touch the cats you're fine. Although make sure the kit is 50 state's legal

Has anyone included an X or H pipe when upgrading your exhaust? I am getting ready to do mine this weekend & wanting to see if it is worth the extra money to have this done too.
Suggestions which would be better for the 6.4? From all that I have gathered the H pipe is more for lower reving engines & X is for more sporty higher reving engines.

I don't know if there is room for one

I wonder is the 6.4L like the 5.7L because if it is I had a 'Y' pipe install in my 2014 2500.

Well I will have a little more time to figure out if the X or H pipe would benefit the 6.4. I made an appointment over a week in advance & told the tech. I wanted true duels out the back with the Flowmaster 50HD mufflers. I even wrote down the model number cause he said they would have to order it. He quoted me $250 if I dump it before the back axle & $400 all the way to the back.
When I asked him this morning how much more it would cost to have a H equalizer pipe installed he had this duh blank look on his face so I asked him do you guys not install these here? He said yea we do but I don't see how it would work on your setup. Come to find out he was going to put on a single in duel out 50HD Muffler. :banghead: Why would I spend 400 bucks to have a fake non performing system!!!
He said he would have to order the correct mufflers & it would cost about $700 for that install. I said never mind I can get it done some where else cheaper than that.
He also was trying to sell me a duel in duel out system, I said NO I want a TRUE DUEL system. What the crap! The only way I could explain it better is if I went into their shop & did it myself!

Holy crap! I may have to road trip to KC MO. & get my exhaust done where Will Ram did his. Had another shop here give me an estimate of $800 for FM 50 series true duels to the back. Not used to paying that much for duel exhaust but I've never done a HD with a 6.4 before either.
