I recently had some one try to steal the catalytic converter in my gas vehicle. Wondering if diesel exhaust system components are prone to the same. I have a 2022 RAM 5500 and it has all the factory exhaust system components. I know there is a Selective Catalytic Reduction piece and other components for exhaust after treatment, but do not know if any of these components have demand in the aftermarket that makes it attractive to theft. If so, what are some precautions to take. I am new to diesel vehicle operation so would appreciate any input.

over the years i have only seen 1 customer that had their exhaust components pulled from their truck... Buyers are starting to not purchase from anyone that is not a buisness so that has stopped some of the theft

No they don't steal them from diesels, you don't have anything to worry about. Plenty of people taking them off themselves and throwing them away Lol.
