Does anyone know if there is a way to change the name of a thread? I'd like the thread to be titled "DIY: 2013+ OEM Steering Wheel Audio Control Install" So that people would know that this works with 2015 and 2016 model years as well.

From a PC or mobile browser to view the forum (not Tapatalk), go to the op and select edit, then"Go Advanced" should give you the option. (Possibly under thread tools from there also).

Beyond that, a mod would be needed (just the way the forum is set up).

To my knowledge the answer is No , 2013+ are diff than the 2009-2012 .

I doubt it since many of the electrical parts changed in 2013+. haven't seen anyone else try it either. Maybe someone will have a better answer.

Need help

Hi all, new to this forum. The write up for this upgrade is great. I just did this install tonight on my 2016 Tradesman. Everything went fairly well until the end. Once I had everything installed and back together and hooked the battery back up I started the truck to check the controls and all worked properly. My problem is my horn is going off and I can't figure out what's causing this to happen. So any help on fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Have you taken the air bag back off and look for a pinched wire ?

With the airbag off , temporarily hook the battery back up is the horn on then ?

I ran out of time last night. I'll double check on pinched wires I didn't notice any as everything was being put back. I'll also try it with the airbag off and see what happens. I wasn't sure about reconnecting the battery with the airbag off I didn't know if that would cause any other problems. Thanks for your suggestions I'll let you know what happens.

No issues should arise with the air bag off and pwr being applied. You may get a message in your instrument cluster .

All fixed. There was a pinched wire in the harness that I couldn't see. Readjusted everything and it's all good to go. Thanks for the help R.L.K.

I bought a (slightly) used leather steering wheel off eBay from "Seats & Such".
It came with audio controls and was just a simple swap.
The airbag clamps really are a PITA though.
