my 14 Express and my 15 2500 never leaked. but I took precautions and re-sealed them myself. I'm assuming they will now start to leak like a sieve.

Only in the rain. And while washing. And possibly due to morning dewfall. Other than those conditions I'd not worry too much.

14 never leaked and my 16 doesn't leak either. My truck gets washed weekly so I would notice. Both were removed to change cargo lights to LED also.

My 2012 CC has never leaked. I live in SoCal and we don't get much rain, or temperature change for that matter, that might have something to do with it.

I do hand wash it weekly, and I've never experienced any water intrusion... so no, they don't all leak.

My 13 never leaked either....I however just pulled it off and the gasket was getting run down...there was a lot of dirt and old pollen trapped. I cleaned everything up with alcohol and then removed old foam gasket and cleaned really well with gunk off. Then I applied the new heavy duty rubber gasket I purchased from Home Depot that was recommended in the 3rd brakelight threads. Stuff is much better than the oem crap. Reinstalled and then retightened slightly a few days later. Been a month and have had torrential rain and snow..not a drop. Highly recommended instead of rtv silicone.

My 09 never did leak but I decided to do this repair as above anyway. Going to do my Dads the same way. Seems to work perfectly.

When I put in my LED 3rd brake light. I think I might get that stuff. What's it called so I can find it at home depot?

My 09 leaked and it gave my wife and newborn a bath. haha

2016, never leaked - but I changed it anyway. Worth $8 and 30 min of your time for peace of mind imo.

Had two 2009's, 2012, 2013, and two 2014's... out of all of those trucks one of my 2014's leaked. Didn't have an issue with the rest.

I will say I've seen how bad it can get if it isn't caught.

My 17 hasn't leaked. I put tinted 3rd light in august 17, saw the issues with some, went to home desperate and got weatherstripping to add to peace of mind.
Knock on wood, all good so far!

I replaced the gasket on mine before it leaked, I damn sure didn't want a stained up headliner or rotten carpet
