Does the A/C have a mind of its’ own?

I noticed from time to tine that my fan speed changes. Like in times of acceleration versus deceleration.

Also noticed a couple of times when the temperature and coolness seems to be “off” for short period of times. You can smell the humidity change as though all of a sudden fresh air is coming in, instead of the AC.

Wondering if it is just self regulating beyond what I can “see” as the driver.

Thoughts?

Yes and sometimes it is unresponsive to the adjustment.

Wondering if the compressor has a mode from working too hard like a thermostat regulates a house unit.

I had auto climate control on both my 2012 1500 CC Laramie and my 2018 1500 CC Limited and haven’t observed any issues with the automatic settings.

If this truck is anything similar to other vehicles I've had the A/C compressor will actually kick off for a moment if the engine is under heavy load or if you really put your foot in the gas pedal. Frees up more horsepower for acceleration.

I have noticed on mine that the ac seems to work a lot better on auto mode. I generally just bounce back and forth between 66 and 68 and don’t really touch anything else.

I have manual controls and I get the random shut off and musty smell.
Took it in to dealer, of course nothing found wrong.

Ask Ram/Dodge owners...the new AC systems suck balls.
