Hello I'd like to swap out to maybe a 360?
Wondering what I can do a straight swap with and still be legal (smog). Just want to use for daily driving but with a little more beef to it.

hahaha. even if you can swap a 360 in there legally i doubt it will really have much more beef with all the smog stuff holding it back. the big thing holding you back is the carb. i have heard yo can swap in a newer engine but you got to keep all the emissions equipment that came with the newer engine and there is likely a crap load of paperwork to go with it but a 5.2 or 5.9 magnum would likely wake the truck up plus if you can get a 46RH it would help the fuel mileage and make it more drive able.

if you keep the same transmission and swap to a 360 you need a neutrally balanced flex plate. otherwise it should just bolt in.
