04 1500 5.7 4x4. Besides doing headers (not yet anyways, money reasons) w/o doing any welding. Should I go ahead and upgrade the whole exhaust or do a cat back system. I'm kinda leaning towards cat back system since it'll be easiest with a clamp on/bolt on kit. Any suggestions on a cat back systems, I know Mangaflow and Flowmaster are the best, I like the FM super 40 kit buts it's 2wd models only, unless someone has put that on a 4wd with no problems. But I was looking at MBRP T-409 Single pipe set up. Anyone have any suggestions that will be better performance and sound quality. I don't care how loud the set up is just don't want that raspy **** noise that says "I just started hacking at ****"!
Thanks for your idea/suggestions!

I don't see why a cat back system would be 2wd/4wd specific. You should be okay

If you plan to do headers I would wait to do all imo

Thanks for yalls opinions! Now the question is, any of y'all suggest a Top brand of headers (pref shorties) and y crossover pipe with or without cats that mate to headers?

Pacesetter longtubes with their Y pipe. Get the coated ones, not the painted.

Up to you. Do you have to do emissions inspection? If so, you'll want to keep the cats...yes, without a custom tune to write out the rear O2's it will throw a CEL

No not in Kansas, there aren't any emissions here. I can't seem to find a Pacesetter y pipe with cats, all I can find is there off-road y pipe with no cats. So I may just say **** it and live with the CEL till I can get time to get a custom tune. Sorry I'm kinda new to the exhaust and customizing world.

You have to modify the y pipe to accept the cats

I have had the MBRP cat back 409 on my 2015 hemi for 6 months and notice a loss of low end power. so much so lately that towing my 1500 lbs boat with truck loaded makes a huge difference in gas milage and slow to take off. but more gain high end at 5500rpm.

anyone else have this issue. I feeling the flow through style exghaust doesn't have enough back pressure for the tow needed to tow **** all
