Can someone help me out. I thought I read somewhere that the muffler or system has a flapper valve in it. Is that true. And if so is it in the muffler?

Its in the muffler. And it would be dang hard to get it out.

Just do a muffler swap

I don't know for sure if the 2018 has it but I strongly suspect it does given FCA's consistent use of that design on all the 6.4L powered trucks and cars.

Here is the stock muffler from my 6.4L 2500:

Yup the 6.4 has a flapper in the muffler. The best way to get it out is to remove the entire giant muffler with something that will flow better!

Stock resonator still in place for both.

Was the flapper on the outlet side or the inlet side of the muffle. I had my exhaust shop cut the outlet side of the muffle. He checked and there was no flapper on that side.
