I have a 2011 ram sport I just purchased and it has the factory in dash navigation screen. I know it plays DVDs but only when not in gear.

Question is, is there some way to make the DVD play while in gear? Maybe a ground that needs to be eliminated? Not one for watching movies while driving but when we go on trips that would be great for the wife and kid.

Thanks !!

Lockpick is the only way. It's not cheap. How is the kid going to see from back seat? A portable is much cheaper. An Ipod Touch will also be cheaper.

What's lock pick? I have a friend that has an after market in dash nav DVD and he has some switch hooked up to disarm it so it works even while in gear.

While the switch thing is easy to do on most aftermarket headunits, on a factory headunit you will need the lockpick.

I got a lockpick in my 12 and love it. Put a front cam and bed cam too.

Has anyone tried any other way of deleting the shutoff?

I have the lockpick as well it really works well. There is also a couple others I have not tried. Nav-TV AllGig and TVandNav2Go MyGig Unlock. No idea what those would give you compared to lockpick but are options.
