Alright guys decided to do an experiment today since I'm getting my ground force springs in anyway. I decided to break down the factory springs/strut and try cutting them. The truck is a 2014 4x4 1500 quad cab. I've only seen one other person actually do this and gave very little info. Honestly at this point Im going to say no on cutting them to anyone who is interested in doing it. I say this because after you cut it the spring does not sit like it should at the top of the strut. From factory the last coil is wound a little more tight so that I fits in the groove. It will still fit it just doesn't seem like the safest thing to me. Even tho it has nowhere to go I just don't like it. Below are pics. First picture is the actual spring uncut. Next is the grove/rubber boot it sits in at the top. After cutting this is the issue. It is a hair too big for the groove. Next is how much I cut off . Not sure on the actual drop amount . And last is the final product. Looks killer. Going to ride this week on it and see how it does. Gf springs will be here this week and will go on. Any questions just ask and I'll try to help.
