Voltage gauge still says its charging though. I'm not sure what else this Gen Light indicates but battery is definitely still charging.

Have you connected a DVOM to the battery or the B+ post at the back of the alternator to see what the actual charging voltage is while at idle?

I think it may be from extended cranking that it is taking to start it. see other threads.
