Does anyone know if you can easly remove the grill inserts on a 2017 longhorn?

If you remove the entire assembly you will get a code but I think I've heard of people removing the center of the shudders but leaving the actuators on the end in place.

When you say grill inserts, to you mean the mesh on the actual grill, or the shudders between the grill and radiator?
