I have an 06 dodge diesel 5.9 3500 what I want to know I replaced a small water hose under my exhaust manifold towards the rear of the motor hose is about 6 inches long it was a pain to remove and replace it. There is no heat shield to keep the hose from getting hot is there suppose to be one if not can I build one?

That hose on my 06 2500 CTD did not have a heat shield, I was smart and paid a local shop to change out the short hose, they said it was a royal pain, if you want to make one I say go for it but do post a photo when installed...

Check Amazon for header wrap. It's cheap there. And don't fall for the titanium lava rock crap. Thats the same as saying impregnated with dirt. Just get some black or natural fiberglass header wrap. Then cut about 12 inches off and wrap it around that hose until its 3 or 4 layers thick.

If you want to be real fancy, finish it off with a layer of foil tape to add a reflective surface.

And yeah you want all of your heat shields.
