Ugh. Well I got my rims and tires for xmass. 285/45r22 as the wife got them all mounted and balanced for me. I would have liked to do the 305/45r22 tho.

Now I'm stuck with lowering or not to lower. Too many issues with lowering. But getting new tires and paying for removal and mourning and balancing is out of the question.

Are they gloss black? If so, where did you get them, I can only find them in satin black.

Thanks,
Nate

Looks like the 285/45R22 are the suggested way to go. Any one have a tire brand they recommend? Most mileage will be highway, and dry conditions.

Michelin LTX but they are expensive at about $1000 for 4. Last the longest and have the best reviews. The second tire I would recommend would be the Yokohama Parada or the Pirelli Scorpion Verde. Go to TireRack and read the reviews and pricing.

Finally a fix for the lowered speed wobble

Don't know how many people know about this but I found a company called Illicit Customs that makes a rear arm relocation bracket to fix the geometry issue on the Rams when you lower them 4" or more. This kit is a bolt in bracket that re-centers the rear wheel and corrects the geometry issue that causes the vibration / wobble. I am no affiliated with this company in any way and haven't used the brackets myself but I plan too when I lower my truck. You can actually lower the rear up to 7" with these brackets so they are great for those who want to use airbags or cut 4" rear springs. Just a warning though they are expensive at $500 but if the truck look good and rides good it's worth it to me. I hope this helps. Here is a link to their Facebook link.

SDTW asked if I saw your truck when I ordered mine.
I still need to lower mine

Here is mine. Hyper black hellcats on 305/40/22 with belltech 2/4 kit.

I talked to SDTW last night about getting the wheels livingstonlc, jcollins28 and WadXpress have. The specs of the wheels are 22x10, backspacing 6.5" and a 25 offset.

So I then talked to Discount Tire tonight and he was worried about the wheel for hauling heavy loads and with the 25 offset due to rubbing. He also recommended the Nitto NT420S tires at 305/45R22.

So do you guys have any rubbing issues like he said and will that set-up look fine with a 2" rear drop only? I would do a 2/4 drop but the guys over at Illicit Customs haven't tested there brackets on a 2017 yet to recommend it.

Thanks

Hey everyone that has the hellcats. I just ordered them 22x10 with a 305/45 tire. You guys think I'll need a 1/4 spacer on the front? Trucks going to be lowered 2in in the front.
Thanks

I was going to. Something about the lowered look and hellcats keeps pulling me in. Plus everyone around my way has a pick up lifted or leveled with 12 or 14 wides. Kinda want to be different.

Following this, my guess is no rubbing with 285, 305's will rub.

I picked up some 1/4 spacers to have on hand for the install. All the stuff should be here next week. I'll prob get started Friday night.

No idea as of yet man. I barely got them today. I will let you know what I find out

Sexy!

Really want to see them on a white truck....I might have to be the first if the OE SRT's fall through.

You running 285's?

Yes, 285s

Looks great. What size tires did you go with?

I have the factory 285/45/22s from my rt still

Truck looks great :happy107:

Thanks for all the info Txhemirt! I've asked these questions a couple of times and haven't had a reply from other members.

I'm lean towards a 2" rear drop and the gloss black 22x10 on 305/45R22 once the tax return comes in.
