Looks like I'm the current gas engine record holder. 291,000 miles and runs just fine. I'm pretty sure the previous owner had a used engine put in about 50k ago and had the trans rebuilt. Over the next few years the truck will get a new lease on life. Overhauling the steering and suspension right now, then a few gaskets here and there, then come the interior followed by some big upgrades. Plans for 4/6 drop and a supercharged 408 sometime in the future.

Well between being married, having a older home that needs upkeep, 2 dogs, 9 chickens, 4 vehicles to maintain between me and my wife...its doesnt see alot of action mainly b.c i have alot of things going.

I spent the last 2 summers driving the charger alot more....this year i hope to drive the truck more, but i say that every year. My family run company gives me a vehicle to use, so i use that when i need a vehicle

Its ok, its just sitting in my barn with a battery tender on it, waiting....

another reason is cost. Between the charger and truck, i can easily (and i mean easily) burn thru 75-100 dollars in fuel in no time. My truck gets 6-8 mpg with the 4.56 gears, the charger has a 440, 3 speed auto, 750 carb, so that isnt a whole lot better...especially when you get on the throttle.

Both of these LOVE LOVE LOVE fuel. It can really add up if i start putting miles on them....and that much fuel usage with my wifes SUV....i can spend alot at the pump in a short amount of time :****sweak::pp::suicide:

6-8 mpg? Please, think about the SMILES per gallon.

I get 10 and change driving 12 miles to and from work everyday. lol A good section of it is with OD off on a twisty county road at a nice pace....

I think maybe we should change this to "How many original miles doe your Ram have?
Once you have a new engine installed it's pretty irrelevant how many miles you have.

300,ooo

My 1999 2500 4x4 has 301,000. It runs like a new one. To drive it, you'd think it had 10,000 miles. Everything is tight,no rattles. I have 35's on it at stock height, which is pretty high from the factory. I plan to install a 2" leveling kit this week.
I would post a pic if I knew how. I have owned this truck for about 5 years just used it occasionally. Now that I put wheels and tires and tinted the windows, I really enjoy driving it.
Especially because it's a 5 speed with 5" exhaust and no muffler.
I've heard stories of these trucks going a million miles. 500,000 miles is easily do able from what I've heard. I tow a fifth wheel. It doesn't have the power of the new ones, but does all right

Not really considering miles take their toll on more than just the engine.

Truth.. A truck is a truck and usually a dodge truck will fall apart around its engine... At least that's true here in rust belt ohio! Damn salt

3rd owner 1995 Ram 2500 82500 miles. Runs like a top other than a hard start which I think is a sticking injector, and a slight coolant leak at the timing cover which I've just been too lazy to fix.
