2014 35k miles no issues to report at this time. Seems the trans temp runs a little high, but nothing I've looked into. What's the average trans temp y'all run?

when was the last time anybody claimed the transmission was a positive highlight of a chrysler vehicle? Love my 8spd. If you are unsure if you like it or not i encourage you to go drive a silverado or sierra with the 8spd and you will instantly LOVE the ram 8spd.

Nice Z. I just sold my 2012 grand sport back in November and miss her to death. Once i get moved to Arizona in the next couple months I'm going to explore a 2017 Z although I'm hesitant due to the overheating issues.

I'm not a fan of the C7Z. They never should have done anything but naturally aspirated.

Look into the 2017 Grand Sport. I think it's going to actually be a better car than the Z06.

with or without being serviced or changing the fluid? how did you come across this info...?

There are a few forums dedicated to the EcoDiesel, you can find a lot of info there. Pretty much all those 3D's are heavy usage and have had the trans fluid serviced. One individual does his almost every 50k. If you want longevity you have to take care of them. Normal usage should still be around 100k for fluid change, that seems to be the general consensus, I am sure it will go much further though.

the normal operating temp on the 8 speed is 185-195... if your towing normal can be up to 205-210... the highest i have had towing is 212 and it was short and dropped down to about 208 i was going up a grade.

what are your temps?

I believe its the same 8 speed in the eco diesel as the HEMI... right?

When I tow mine usually never get above like 205. I also have the heavy duty coolers with the tow package though.

I don't think i had the tow package because i had to add a brake controller. i just had the hitch. I'm guessing i don't have the heavy duty cooler... I'm sure it can be added. When i talked to the mechanics at dodge they said up to 205-210 was considered normal for towing or heavy hauling.... the 8 speed is designed to run hotter than other transmissions...

Now that you say that I'm fine. Run around 195 pretty consistently. Everything has been good.
